Also, update on the baby polar bear at Toronto Zoo. His new name is Hudson. I was hoping for Boreas, but there’s no denying that no matter what his name is, he’s definitely a cutie. <3
This marks the end of the pencil pages I drew last year. I’ll be taking a break from updates for the next few weeks while I finish storyboarding the final couple of chapters of The Last of the Polar Bears, and then I will relaunch the series with all new color pages every Monday!
Oh neat–the name I submitted for Toronto Zoo’s name the new polar bear cub contest (Boreas) is one of the top 5 finalists, and zookeeper’s pick, at that. 🙂 There’s no prize, but I’d be so thrilled if they used my submitted name for the cub. The mother polar bear’s name is Aurora (goddess of the dawn) so I thought Boreas (god of the north wind) would be so perfect for him. Together they’d be Aurora Borealis. Voting is open through March 31st.
